Collagenolytic proteases have many potential applications in different areas of science, industry, and medicine. The determination of the activity of such proteins is paramount to their application. Here, we describe methods which can be applied to determine the activity and some basic characteristics of potential collagenases. © 2017, Springer Science+Business Media LLC.
