abstract = "The institutional repository, Cherry, situated at the University of Belgrade - Faculty of Chemistry, stands as a cornerstone of sustainable infrastructure, now entering its sixth year of operation. Functioning as a digital library meticulously curated by librarians, Cherry contains a comprehensive collection of scientific works, each accompanied by well-structured and meticulously controlled metadata. Embracing the Dublin Core schema, Cherry ensures metadata of copyright details and delineates usage permissions under various Creative Commons licenses, thereby preserving scientific integrity.
Members of the academic community in Serbia are obligated to uphold the integrity of the higher education system and the academic institutions themselves, compelling members of the scholarly community to execute their duties conscientiously, diligently, and responsibly. Since its inception, Cherry has continually evolved, offering a myriad of advantages aimed at facilitating the accessibility of diligently crafted research outcomes.
Cherry's content accessibility has been significantly enhanced through its integration with the OpenAIRE platform. Notably, starting in 2023, the Faculty of Chemistry is embarking on a pioneering endeavor as a pilot participant in the GraspOS project, funded by the European Commission. GraspOS brings a Next Generation Research Assessment to promote Open Science and foster a paradigm shift in the perspective of researchers and librarians within the academic environment. Participation in the GraspOS project has catalyzed the development of innovative strategies for Responsible Research Assessment, as evidenced by the tangible outcomes realized at the Faculty of Chemistry and its Innovative Centre. These endeavors are encapsulated within Cherry's framework through the conceptualization and implementation of four fundamental objectives:
Establishing badges for researchers who apply Green Open Access (Self-Archiving model).
Establishing badges for groups of researchers (departments) applying Green Open Access.
Implementation of badges to commend participation in specialized seminars and training sessions focused on Responsible Research Assessment and broader Open Science principles, facilitated by expert librarians.
Enhancement of the institutional Rulebook on open science to define and regulate pilot activities pertaining to reward systems, encompassing evaluation mechanisms, activity monitoring, and upholding scientific integrity.,
