AB - The emerging threat of bacterial resistance to antibiotics prompts the urgent search for biomaterials for the treatment of infectious disease. Here we report on the synthesis and characterization of a multiphasic nanocomposite comprising magnetic iron oxide and silver nanoparticles. The method of synthesis involved the combustion of a metalorganic complex and reduction of the silver ions that were exchanged and/or adsorbed on the surface of iron oxide. Different physical and chemical treatments coupled to the reduction process, including ultrasound and Lugol's iodine solution, respectively, homogenized the distribution of the silver nanoparticles on the iron oxide phase. Remarkably, using ascorbic acid as a reductant enhanced the magnetic properties of the material as a result of the reduction of the magnetic matrix alongside the silver cations. The treatment with ultrasound detached large amounts of silver from the iron oxide phase and resulted in the lowest amount of silver incorporated in the nanocomposite. Despite that, this treatment led to the highest antibacterial activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative strains, indicating that the homogeneity of the distribution of silver on the iron oxide matrix is a more important determinant of the antibacterial performance than the amount of silver incorporated in the material. At the same time, the treatment with Lugol's iodine equally increased the distribution homogeneity, but induced excessive ion exchange and crystal lattice substitutions, thereby adversely affecting the antibacterial performance. This has indicated that the mode of binding silver to iron oxide can compensate for the positive effects of homogeneous distribution with respect to the antibacterial performance.

AB - : Nanoparticles of TiO2 are suitable for many catalytic and photocatalytic applications due
to their extraordinary properties such as superhydrophobicity, semiconductivity, electron-rich, and
environmental compatibility. The main crystalline phases of TiO2
, anatase, and rutile possess different
crystal structures, crystallinity, crystalline sizes, and specific surface areas, and these characteristics
directly affect the catalytic performance of TiO2
. In the present study, domestic carbon material
enhanced with TiO2 nanoparticles was synthesized and used for the construction of a modified
carbon paste electrode. The electrocatalytic activity of the modified electrodes was investigated
depending on the TiO2 crystalline phases in the electrode material. Furthermore, the obtained
working electrode was utilized for triclosan detection. Under optimized experimental conditions, the
developed electrode showed a submicromolar triclosan detection limit of 0.07 µM and a wide linear
range of 0.1 to 15 µM. The relative standard deviations for repeatability and reproducibility were
lower than 4.1%, and with satisfactory selectivity, the proposed system was successfully applied to
triclosan monitoring in groundwater. All these results confirm that the sustainable production of new
and domestically prepared materials is of great benefit in the field of electrocatalysis and that the
morphology of such produced materials is strongly related to their catalytic properties.

AB - A series of novel polyurethane network/organoclay nanocomposites (PUN-NCs) with different soft segment contents (30–60 wt%) was prepared by in situ polymerization in solution and characterized. PU network (PUN) was made from poly(dimethylsiloxane)-based macrodiol as the soft segment and 4,4′-methylenediphenyldiisocyanate and hyperbranched polyester of the third pseudo generation as the hard segment. Nanocomposites were obtained by dispersion of organically modified montmorillonite (Cloisite 30B) nanofiller (0.5 wt%). The influence of the soft segment content on the functional properties of PUN-NCs was studied by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), small-angle and near wide-angle X-ray scattering (SWAXS), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), dynamic mechanical thermal analyses (DMTA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), nanoindentation, atomic force microscopy (AFM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and swelling behavior, water absorption and contact angle measurements. The biodegradation process was evaluated using mixed cultures of microorganisms that originated from soil. Mechanically strong PUN-NC materials in the form of films were obtained, pointing to good dispersion and the existence of exfoliated morphology of Cloisite 30B within the PUN matrix, and the nanocomposites with the abovementioned characteristics were obtained as a function of the soft segment content. The decrease of the soft segment content induced a higher degree of phase separated microstructure, increase of Young's modulus, hardness, plasticity, storage modulus, glass transition temperature, surface free energy and swelling ability in tetrahydrofuran, but at the same time, it is responsible for the decrease of crosslinking density and hydrophobicity of PUN-NCs. By choosing adequate soft segment content, the prepared materials can potentially be designed for coating applications, such as top coating materials in environmental conditions.

AB - The problem of wastewater has long been ubiquitous and has great consequences for the environment and its inhabitants. Microbial fuel cells (MFCs) have enormous potential for the treatment of wastewaters polluted with azo dyes. The amount of energy that can be produced from a single-chamber MFC is sufficient to perform decolorization and degradation of such dyes, which are widely used in the textile industry. This study on the azo dye, reactive black 5 (RB5), provides an alternative method through three parallel-connected MFCs to obtain electricity that directly serves for the dye’s electrochemical degradation. We examined degradation followed by decolorization of RB5 using Fe and Pt electrodes, together with H2O2, to achieve the electro-Fenton process. The amount of voltage produced (295 mV), the current density (276 mA m−3) and the power density (50 mW m−3) were sufficient to degrade 25 mg L-1 RB5 dye with 0.5 mM H2O2 in just 2 h. The dye degradation mechanism was investigated using UV–VIS, FT-IR and HPLC-MS/MS. The ecotoxicity of the degradation products was assessed using a bacterial model, Aliivibrio fischeri. These tests showed that there was successful degradation of the dye to products whose toxicity is less than that of RB5.

AB - In this work hydrogen production activity of a series of the nickel-loaded, nitrogen-doped titanate-based photocatalysts was tested by water splitting reaction in isopropanol-water mixture. The utilization of ammonium ions during catalyst synthesis and subsequent calcination led to successful formation of nitrogen-doped nanotubular titanates with lower sodium content, favored titanate-to-anatase transformation and enhanced textural, morphological and interface properties. The photocatalytic tests revealed that hydrogen production activity of nitrogen-doped titanates is ten times higher compared to nitrogen-free titanates. The presence of highly photoactive anatase phase, improved anatase crystallinity and lower amount of sodium ions are found to be decisive factors for increased hydrogen production activity. The optimal nickel loading was determined and the variation in photocatalytic activity with reduction temperature was explained. Stability tests gave quantitative analysis of the effects of reaction products accumulation and photocorrosion on the catalyst deactivation.

AB - Schizophrenia is a widespread mental disorder that leads to significant functional impairments and premature death. The state of the art indicates gaps in the understanding and diagnosis of this disease, but also the need for personalized and precise approaches to patients through customized medical treatment and reliable monitoring of treatment response. In order to fulfill existing gaps, the establishment of a universal set of disorder biomarkers is a necessary step. Metabolomic investigations of serum samples of Serbian patients with schizophrenia (51) and healthy controls (39), based on NMR analyses associated with chemometrics, led to the identification of 26 metabolites/biomarkers for this disorder. Principal component analysis (PCA) and orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA) models with prediction accuracies of 0.9718 and higher were accomplished during chemometric analysis. The established biomarker set includes aspartate/aspartic acid, lysine, 2-hydroxybutyric acid, and acylglycerols, which are identified for the first time in schizophrenia serum samples by NMR experiments. The other 22 identified metabolites in the Serbian samples are in accordance with the previously established NMR-based serum biomarker sets of Brazilian and/or Chinese patient samples. Thirteen metabolites (lactate/lactic acid, threonine, leucine, isoleucine, valine, glutamine, asparagine, alanine, gamma-aminobutyric acid, choline, glucose, glycine and tyrosine) that are common for three different ethnic and geographic origins (Serbia, Brazil and China) could be a good start point for the setup of a universal NMR serum biomarker set for schizophrenia. © 2022 by the authors.

AB - Conventionally used spectrometric techniques of inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) and inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-MS) usually involve time-consuming sample preparation procedure of a sample dissolution which requires the usage of aggressive and toxic chemicals. The need for suitable and sustainable analytical methods for direct multi-elemental analysis of plant samples has been increased in recent years. Spectrometric techniques for direct sample analysis, instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA) and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) have been applied in environmental studies and various fields of screening tests. Nevertheless, these techniques are not commonly used for plant sample analysis and their performances need to be evaluated. This research aimed to assess how reliable non-destructive techniques are in the determination of elements in plants compared to conventionally used spectrometric techniques. A total of 49 plant samples of four conifer species (Pinus nigra, Abies alba, Taxus baccata and Larix decidua) were measured using two conventionally applied (ICP-MS, ICP-OES) and two non-destructive techniques (wavelength dispersive XRF (WD-XRF), INAA). The comparison was performed by investigation of relative ratios of concentrations and by correlation analysis. Moreover, precision of the techniques was examined and compared. The quality control included analysis of NIST pine needles certified reference material (1575a) using all examined techniques. Our results suggest that additional analytical and quality control steps are necessary for reaching the highest accuracy of multi-elemental analysis.

AB - In order to further define the potential use of FTIR-ATR spectroscopy, as a non-destructive and reliable technique, for the analysis of the characteristics of post stamps, certified originals of the Principality of Serbia stamps (“Prince Michael issues”) issued in 1866 and 1868 as well as their forgeries were analyzed. Spectra enabling the comparison of the paper, dye and glue of stamps of so-called “Vienna issues”, having denominations of 10 (orange-yellow), 20 (pink) and 40 para (blue) and “Belgrade issues” (1 para-green and 2 para-reddish brown), as well as 24 expert-certified forgeries, were taken. It was shown that the applied technology was, in most of the cases, a fast and suitable technique for establishing clear differences between the spectral characteristics of the paper and dye used for the original stamps, and forgeries that were most probably made decades after the printing of the genuine stamps. The differences between printings of the same issues of the genuine stamps were also elaborated. It is proposed, for the first time in philatelic history, the possibility that “Vienna issues” stamps may have been printed on two different papers, and, having in mind the technology of printing in the 19th century, potentially, not even at the same time or in the same printing house.

abstract = "In order to further define the potential use of FTIR-ATR spectroscopy, as a non-destructive and reliable technique, for the analysis of the characteristics of post stamps, certified originals of the Principality of Serbia stamps (“Prince Michael issues”) issued in 1866 and 1868 as well as their forgeries were analyzed. It is proposed, for the first time in philatelic history, the possibility that “Vienna issues” stamps may have been printed on two different papers, and, having in mind the technology of printing in the 19th century, potentially, not even at the same time or in the same printing house.",

AB - Introduction Ramonda serbica and R. nathaliae are resurrection plants that have the remarkable ability to survive the complete desiccation of their vegetative organs (i.e. leaves, stem, roots) during periods of drought and rapidly revive when rewatered and rehydrated. Objective To investigate metabolic changes in R. serbica and R. nathaliae during their desiccation and recovery process Methods Proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H-NMR) and gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS)-based metabolomics approach coupled with multivariate data analysis was utilised to identify the metabolomes of the plants from 90 biological replicates. Results Sucrose and the polyphenolic glycoside myconoside were predominant in almost equal amounts in all samples studied, regardless of their water content at sampling. During the dehydration process, a decrease in the relative content of fructose, galactose, and galactinol was observed while the contents of those metabolites were preserved in the partially rehydrated plants. Raffinose and myo-inositol were accumulated in dry samples. Conclusion Using 1H-NMR and GC–MS as two complementary analytical platforms provided a more complete picture of the metabolite composition for investigation of the desiccation and recovery process in resurrection plants.

AB - Candida albicans remains the main causal agent of candidiasis, the most common fungal infection with disturbingly high mortality rates worldwide. The limited diversity and efficacy of clinical antifungal drugs, exacerbated by emerging drug resistance, have resulted in the failure of current antifungal therapies. This imposes an urgent demand for the development of innovative strategies for effective eradication of candidal infections. While the existing clinical drugs display fungicidal or fungistatic activity, the strategy specifically targeting C. albicans filamentation, as the most important virulence trait, represents an attractive approach for overcoming the drawbacks related to clinical antifungals. The results acquired in this study revealed the significant potential of 5-aminotetrazoles as a new class of effective and safe anti-virulence agents. Moreover, these novel agents were active when applied both alone and in combination with clinically approved polyenes. Complete prevention of C. albicans morphogenetic yeast-to-hyphae transition was achieved at doses as low as 1.3 μM under conditions mimicking various filamentation-responsive stimuli in the human body, while no cardio- or hepatotoxicity was observed at doses as high as 200 μM. The treatment of C. albicans-infected zebrafish embryos with nystatin alone had low efficacy, while the combination of nystatin and selected 5-aminotetrazoles prevented fungal filamentation, successfully eliminating the infection and rescuing the infected embryos from lethal disseminated candidiasis. In addition, the most potent anti-virulence 5-aminotetrazole prevented C. albicans in developing the resistance to nystatin when applied in combination, keeping the fungus sensitive to the antifungal drug.

AB - Raspberries are considered valuable fruits due to their high levels of nutrients and phytochemicals, which have many beneficial effects on humans. As many external factors affect the composition of these fruits (the type of cultivation, soil characteristics, ripeness, storage time and post-harvest technologies, cultivar/genotype, and climatic conditions), the goal of this study was to analyze different raspberry cultivars grown in Norway. Considering that Norway is a country with specific climatic conditions, as well as has a limited period of fruit vegetation, another important goal of this study was also to compare raspberries from different Norwegian areas, as well as different grown cultivars. Modern analytical techniques, such as high-performance anion-exchange liquid chromatography with pulsed amperometric detection (HPEAC-PAD), ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography with diode array detector coupled to triple quadrupole mass spectrometry (UHPLC-DAD MS/MS), and inductively coupled plasma–optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES), provided a detailed examination of the raspberry extract samples. Based on their high levels of minerals (especially N, P, and K), organic acids (predominantly citric and malic acids), sugars (glucose, fructose, sucrose, and galactose), and polyphenols (ellagic acid, syringic acid, quercetin, and rutin), Norwegian raspberries could be considered fruits with increased health-beneficial compounds. The chemical composition of the studied cultivars depended on the locality of growth

AB - This study presents a detailed characterization of 27 honey samples from the Tara Mountain region in Serbia using different comprehensive techniques and methods. The types of the honey samples were defined as monofloral (4 samples), honeydew (5 samples) and polyfloral (18 samples) honey based on determined polyphenol content, antioxidant activity, electrical conductivity and melissopalynological analyses. Physicochemical parameters such as pH (4.13–4.94), diastase activity (24.20–41.70 DN), acidity (14.60–29.70 meq/kg), content of 5-(hydroxymethyl)furfural (in range below 5, up to 16.90 mg/kg), sucrose (0.20–3.90 g/100 g), and moisture content (15.01–19.23%) confirmed the required quality of the honey samples. Sensory analysis revealed honey characteristics favorable to consumers. Analyses of 19 phenolic compounds using ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography with a diode-array detection and triple quadrupole mass spectrometry (UHPLC-DAD-MS/MS) revealed six phenolic acids and 13 other compounds from the group of flavonoids and their glycosides. In all the samples the highest content was determined for p-coumaric acid, followed by caffeic acid and pinocembrin. Besides total phenolic content and radical scavenging activity, antimicrobial activity was also examined. Most honey samples showed bactericidal activity against Staphylococcus aureus and bacteriostatic activity against Escherichia coli, while none of the honey samples inhibited the growth of Candida albicans. Chemometric analyses were applied for an in-depth study of the results to further evaluate the characteristics of the honey samples studied. Principal component analysis (PCA) was used for assessing the differences in physicochemical parameters, polyphenols content and antioxidant capacity between honey samples. The unrooted cluster tree was used to group the samples based on the melissopalynological analyses.

The unrooted cluster tree was used to group the samples based on the melissopalynological analyses.",

AB - The molecular and isotopic composition of biomarkers in initial bitumen isolated from immature (0.41% Rr) oil shale samples (Aleksinac deposit) and liquid products obtained by pyrolysis in open (OS) and closed (CS) systems are studied. The influence of pyrolysis type and variations of kerogen type on biomarkers composition and their isotopic signatures in liquid products is determined. The applicability of pyrolysis type, numerous biomarkers and carbon isotopic compositions (δ13C) of n-alkanes in liquid pyrolysates is established. Pyrolysis experiments were performed on two selected samples that showed high content of total organic carbon and hydrocarbon generation potential, but also certain variations in sources/depositional environment of organic matter (type I and mixed type I/II kerogen) within previous research of the oil shales sample set. The biomarker signatures were evaluated using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and δ13C of individual n-alkanes in bitumen and liquid pyrolysates. The molecular composition of liquid pyrolysates from the OS is very similar to those in initial bitumen, independently on kerogen type, confirming algal origin of organic matter (OM) deposited in lacustrine environment, even more apparently than results of initial bitumen. Therefore, OS can be useful for assessment of source and depositional environment of OM. Pyrolysis in the CS caused more intense thermal alterations, therefore the source fingerprints sometimes notably disappear. The liquid pyrolysates from the CS have the distributions of biomarkers similar to those in crude oils. The biomarker maturity parameters showed slightly higher values in the CS pyrolysate of mixed type I/II kerogen in relation to type I kerogen. δ13C of n-alkanes in liquid pyrolysates from the OS are isotopically lighter in comparison to bitumen, independently on kerogen type. Oppositely, in liquid pyrolysates from the CS, they become heavier than in bitumen, indicating the thermal influence on δ13C signatures, with more pronounced difference for type I kerogen.

AB - Chitosan (Ch)-derived from biowaste along with smectite, an abundant clay mineral, were used in a low-cost and eco-friendly synthesis of a new type of catalyst. Nanocomposite catalysts constituted of Co supported on smectite with chitosan-derived carbon loading were obtained using an impregnation‑carbonization procedure and denoted as Co/cCh-S-T (T stands for applied carbonization temperature). The carbonization was performed in the temperature range from 400 °C to 700 °C in the flow of N2 providing inert atmosphere. The temperature of 500 °C was found to be the most suitable for catalyst synthesis regarding catalytic performance in a peroxymonosulfate activated degradation of tartrazine. The incorporation of carbonized chitosan structure within the interlamellar space of the smectite was confirmed using X-ray powder diffraction. The high-resolution transmission electron microscopy confirmed a layered structure of nanocomposites characteristic for smectite, as well as the presence of small spherical cobalt containing nanoformations (confirmed by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy) well dispersed within structure. The existance of cobalt in the CoII and CoIII oxidation state was proven by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The Co/cCh-S-500 catalyst was proven to be stable and efficient after 5 consecutive cycles. This work showed that nanocomposite Co-catalysts, based on smectite and biowaste-derived carbon, as peroxymonosulfate activators exhibited a very promising performance in the degradation of water pollutants.

AB - Heavy metals are naturally occurring elements, but they are regarded as significant environmental pollutants due to their high density and high toxicity even at low concentrations. The aim of this paper is the evaluation of the pollution level of heavy metals in the river and riverbank sediments, as well as the estimation of their origin and spatial differences along the course of the Vrbas River through Banja Luka. The concentrations of metals have been assessed using the Inductively coupled plasma – optical emission spectrometry and Advanced mercury analyzer for mercury determination. The anthropogenic impact on heavy metal concentration in sediments was estimated by the calculating of pollution indices: geoaccumulation index (Igeo), contamination factor (Cf), pollution load index (PLI) and potential ecological risk index (Er). Obtained results indicate that there is no statistically significant spatial difference in metal concentration, indicating that heavy metals in sediments have a constant source. The anthropogenic impact expressed by the values of pollution indices showed that sites are generally uncontaminated by Co, Cr and V and moderately contaminated by Zn, Cu and Ni. On the contrary, lead, mercury and cadmium pose the highest ecological risk. The anthropogenic source of Pb, Hg and Cd is industry, municipal waste and the combustion of fossil fuels. The obtained results demonstrate the high ecological risk and the need for environ-mental monitoring, with the aim to support an efficient strategy to reduce local pollution and contamination of the investigated system.

AB - Increasing pollutant levels in surface water are a very important problem in developing countries. In Serbia, the largest rivers are transboundary rivers that cross the border already polluted. Taking this into account, evaluation of the distribution characteristics, ecological risk, and sources of toxic elements in river water and surface sediments in the watercourses of the Vlasina watershed is of great significance for the protection of water resources in Serbia. A total of 17 sediment and 18 water samples were collected and analyzed by Inductively Coupled Plasma—Optical Emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) and Inductively Coupled Plasma—Mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) to determine micro- and macroelements contents. The geo-accumulation index (Igeo) was applied to determine and classify the magnitude of toxic element pollution in this river sediment. The contents of the studied toxic elements were below water and sediment quality guidelines. For studied river water, results of principal component analysis (PCA) indicated the difference in behavior of Cr, Mn, Ni, Cu, and As and V, respectively. Cluster analysis (CA) classified water samples according to As and Cu content. The PCA results revealed that lead in river sediments had different behavior than other elements and can be associated mainly with anthropogenic sources. According to the degree of Igeo, the majority of sediments in the Vlasina region were uncontaminated regarding studied toxic elements. The origin of elements is mostly from natural processes such as soil and rock weathering.

AB - Adrenergic receptors are among the most studied G protein-coupled receptors. Activation or blockade of these receptors is a major therapeutic approach for the treatment of numerous disorders such as cardiac hypertrophy, congestive heart failure, hypertension, angina pectoris, cardiac arrhythmias, depression, benign prostate hyperplasia, anaphylaxis, asthma, and hyperthyroidism. Among all nine cloned adrenoceptor subtypes and the subsequent development of animal models, a significant target for various neurological conditions treatment is alpha1-adrenergic receptors. 2-{[4-(2-Methoxyphenyl)piperazin-1-yl]alkyl}-1H-benzo[d]imidazoles, their 5 substituted derivatives, and structurally similar, arylpiperazine based alpha1-adrenergic receptors antagonists (trazodone, naftopidil, and urapidil) have been subjects of comparative analysis. Most of the novel compounds showed alpha1-adrenergic affinity in the range from 22 nM to 250 nM. The in silico docking and molecular dynamics simulations, binding data together with absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME) calculations identified the promising lead compounds. The results brought out the conclusions which allowed us to propose a rationale for the activity of these molecules and to highlight six compounds (2-5, 8, and 12) that exhibited an acceptable pharmacokinetic profile to the advanced investigation as the potential alpha1-adrenergic receptor antagonists.

AB - Persistent organic pollutants (POPs) are lipophilic, constant and bioaccumulative toxic compounds. In general, they are considered resistant to biological, photolytic, and chemical degradation with polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) belonging to these chemicals. PCBs were never produced in Serbia, but they were imported and mainly used in electrical equipment, transformers, and capacitors. Our study aimed to analyse sequential multi-stage aerobic/anaerobic microbial biodegradation of PCBs present in the river sediment from the area known for long-term pollution with these chemicals. The study with an autochthonous natural microbial community (NMC model system) and NMC augmented with allochthonous hydrocarbon-degrading (AHD) microorganisms (isolated from location contaminated with petroleum products) (NMC-AHD model system) was performed in order to estimate the potential of these microorganisms for possible use in future bioremediation treatment of these sites. The laboratory biodegradation study lasted 70 days, after which an overall >33 % reduction in the concentration of total PCBs was observed. This study confirmed the strong potential of the NMC for the reduction of the level of PCBs in the river sediment under alternating multi-stage aerobic/anaerobic conditions.

This study confirmed the strong potential of the NMC for the reduction of the level of PCBs in the river sediment under alternating multi-stage aerobic/anaerobic conditions.,

AB - Spray pyrolysis was used to deposit CeO2–TiO2 coatings on stainless steel substrates. The addition of CeO2 to TiO2 changes morphology of the coatings, causing the surface to become laced and some CeO2 ions are incorporated into TiO2 crystal lattice. Part of CeO2 is highly dispersed on the surface of TiO2. The XPS showed the simultaneous existence of Ce4+ and Ce3+ on coating surface. As the CeO2 content in composites increases from 0.5 to 20%, the band gap decreases from 3.16 to 2.88 eV, respectively. The photoactivities in the degradation of methyl orange and lindane were significantly influenced by the content of Ce in composite. For methyl orange photodegradation, the highest activity had coating with CeO2 content of 2 wt%. In contrast, the activity of coatings in lindane photodegradation gradually decreases as the CeO2 content increases. However, efficiency of CeO2–TiO2 coatings remained satisfactory for application in process of lindane degradation. Lindane conversion at 6 h of irradiation is in the range from 88% for pure TiO2 to 60% for CeO2–TiO2 coating with CeO2 content of 20 wt%. Photodegradation of lindane was enhanced on pure TiO2 sites, while methyl orange degradation is highest on composite CeO2/TiO2 species with CeO2 content of 2 wt%.
