Very strong metal ligand aromatic cation-pi interactions in transition metal complexes: intermolecular interaction in tetraphenylborate salts
Abstract
Strong intermolecular interactions between ligands in cationic metal complexes and aromatic rings of tetraphenylborate anion, so-called metal ligand aromatic cation-pi (MLACpi) interactions, were found by screening Cambridge Structural Database. Distances between phenyl ring and ligand are shorter in these structures than in previously reported MLACpi interactions by 0.2 Angstrom. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
